A Caring Community seeks to create a bridge between those in need and those who wish to grow through the experience of giving service to their community. Our mission is to facilitate, for both volunteers and service organizations, the process of discovering each other. Through this web site, we hope to offer a means of communication, a vehicle for service learning and a route toward bringing connection back into community.

Our website highlights volunteer opportunities available in the MetroWest– Acton/Concord areas of Massachusetts. Through conducting a search by category (Housing/Shelter, Elders, Health Services, Women's Services, Environment, etc), volunteers can identify specific organizations and their current volunteer needs. Information concerning the mission of the organization along with a description of the services needed, contact people, and times and dates are provided.

A Caring Community hopes this website is useful to teachers attempting to get their students involved in curricula-related service learning work, to businesses searching for ways to make a difference in the community in which they reside, to faith groups looking to expand their outreach into the community, and to individual citizens seeking to lend a helping hand.
