ABUW is pleased to announce that Marge Kennedy is the recipient of our 2014 volunteer of the year award. ABUW created this award to recognize and thank the leadership volunteer that goes above and beyond-giving so much back to the community.

ABUW Outreach Committee Chair, Shelley Sherman presented the award to Marge at our Annual Meeting which was held on June 18, 2014 at the Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough. Marge was honored for her many years of dedication to ABUW. In the 15 years that Marge has been in Acton, she served on our board for three years and she remains a vital and active member of the ABUW Community Outreach Committee. Marge has a passionate commitment to helping those in need and social justice. In addition to Marge's work with ABUW, she is also one of the founders of the Diversity Coalition which has brought together members of our schools, town boards, clergy, disabled citizens, and minority groups. . Marge currently serves as a member of No Place For Hate, she attends the Safety Net meetings, and served as a liaison with the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Budget Buddies organization, which teaches financial literacy to under-served populations.
