Read on for more, and thank you, as always, for your support.

Please forward this email on to friends and neighbors who may be interested in the work of the ABUW in our community.

2-1-1 Officially Kicked Off

PMina & TMurray 211Though operational for 9 months, the Mass211 Task Force recently held its official public kickoff of the new informaton & referral line - 211 - in Natick.  Lt. Gov. Tim Murray made the first 'offical' call to this vital service.  He and Mass211 Executive Director Paul Mina, are shown above making that call.
211 is a critical link for people in need to be connected to the services and organizations that can assist them with whatever social service issue they face - at no charge.

The Acton-Boxborough United Way is a proud supporter of Mass211, and we encourage all area residents to use this hotline, or to share the information with friends, neighbors and co-workers in need.

Grant Making Season Underway
Our Allocations Commitee is now hard at work reviewing the 25+ applications for funding received by local social service organizations seeking grant funding.  Through a careful review process, meetings with applicants, and thoughtful discussions on priority of needs, the ABUW, as always, will be careful stewards of donor dollars and hard earned revenues in determining grant awards.  For more information on this process, please feel free to send an email to abuw@abuw.org.
