November
30, 2010
Dear Neighbor,
ABUW's November events have
been both thought-provoking and enjoyable.
At our bi-annual
Community Forum, the data shared
by social service agencies
emphasized the stress and
struggles many local residents are enduring as a result of high
unemployment rates.
In order to raise additional
funds for these local agencies, more than 100 Acton-Boxborough
residents attended the ABUW Fall Fundraiser,
Casino
Royale. It was a convivial and
entertaining evening and we hope you will join us for a repeat event
next year.
As
you share holiday traditions and celebrations with your friends and
family, please consider a year-end gift to ABUW. Your involvement
and generosity are crucial to our efforts to strengthen the
community. Thank you!
Jane
Boatright,
ABUW President and Rachel
Sagen, ABUW Executive Director

Great Response from
the Community by
Catherine Longwell, Board of Directors
Generosity,
community and a true sense of fun were all in attendance at the
ABUW's Casino Royale on
Saturday, November 6, 2010. Over 100 guests and volunteers played,
mingled and enjoyed themselves at the captivating Powers Gallery on Great Road. Luck and
laughs were abundant at all of the gaming tables.
Outstanding
community support for the United Way extends to the businesses that
sponsored the event. We thank and recognize the Steinberg
Lalli Charitable Foundation, Enterprise Bank, Acton Lincoln Mercury,
Circle Furniture, Dunkin Donuts
of Acton, Ekaru, Gould's Plaza, Roche Bros. Supermarkets, Sundberg
Builders, and Survey Crafter.
The live music enjoyed by guests was donated
by Musique Makers of Acton. Boutonnieres were donated by Rose of
Sharon
