Building Community                                                                      October 2009
Dear Neighbor,
I would like to thank all of you who support our organization year after year. We wouldn't have the impact on our community that we have without your continued support. I would also like to encourage those of you who aren't as familiar with the work we do to check out our website and talk to one of our volunteers about the Community of Care that we are all so invested in.

Through your single contribution to the ABUW, you have the power to improve people's lives and strengthen our community. During this challenging economy causing so many to struggle, I hope I can count on your generous support.

Fall Campaign is Underway!
The Acton-Boxborough United Way plays a critical role in our local community by helping those in need - from infants to teens to the elderly.

The fall ABUW campaign allows our organization the capacity to support many local agencies who directly impact you and your neighbors. These agencies have been hit hard by cutbacks and financial challenges as have the individuals they support. The results are increased demands for services from more limited resources. The realities are more people needing safety net basics such as utilities, support for housing and food, counseling and mental health and abuse services.

Caring for our neighbors is what the AAB United Way Community of CareBUW is all about. This past year alone, the ABUW awarded grants to 24 different health and human service organizations serving the needs of Acton and Boxborough residents - from infants to teens to elders  -  as part of the Community of Care.

Please consider making a donation today to the ABUW.  Your donation will help improve the lives of those in your own local community. Together we will be a stronger, more vibrant Acton and Boxborough!
