Board of Directors
The Acton-Boxborough United Way depends heavily on our all-volunteer Board of Directors, who represent all segments of the Acton and Boxborough populations — women and men, high school students, working adults (both at home or outside the home), retirees, sandwich generation folks, those from many different neighborhoods, faith communities and backgrounds, and more.
Ours is a working board, which means that each Director plays a significant role in the operations of the organization through serving on various Committees, including Allocations/Community Investment, Campaign, Communications, Special Events, Nominating and Community Outreach.
We seek a diverse membership — cultural, economic, faith, occupation, age, and other differences that, combined, bring a wealth of experience and insight to an organization working to serve our common community and improve the quality of life for all.
We seek diverse skills — leaders, “do-ers”, sales, creative thinking, graphics, marketing, publicity, finances, writers, designers, activists, and so much more.
Board members serve three-year terms initially, and then can choose to continue their service for one year terms indefinitely.
If you are interested in finding out more about service on the ABUW’s Board of Directors, please send an email to our Executive Director at info@abuw.org.
