AB Cares, a community-based collaborative, seeks to prevent suicide across the life span and support all who are impacted by suicide. AB Cares aims to support community-wide conversations, awareness, and connections across Acton and Boxborough in order to prevent suicide. As a co-founder, Acton-Boxborough United Way is pleased to virtually host the 2020-21 series of virtual QPR© training during the pandemic.

For resources specific to suicide prevention across the lifespan, see the AB Cares Resources Document

QPR© Suicide Prevention Trainings are Now Virtual!

Sign up today for a free virtual training and help save lives:

  • Recognize the warning signs of suicide
  • Know how to offer hope
  • Know how to get help and save a life

Much like First Aid or CPR training, QPR© (Question-Persuade-Refer) training is free and open to all community members! More than 350 residents and community members have participated in the training since AB Cares started offering them in 2017.  Some of our recent attendees have shared that QPR© training is “Incredibly helpful!”, that “It changed how I speak about suicide,” and that “The training helped me to talk with my daughter when I was worried about her!”

If you are someone who has benefited from QPR© training, please spread the word- increasing awareness is critical!  Learn more about how you can become a Gatekeeper and support your friends and neighbors on the QPR© Institute website
