Acton Public Safety Facility Is Drop-Off Point for Personal Protective Equipment

Acton First Responders and local agencies are in urgent need of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for COVID-19. The Acton Public Safety Facility (Acton Police) is a primary drop-off point, and will distribute donations to those who need them.

What to drop off:

  • Masks of all types: N95, KN95, disposable masks, home made or sewn masks etc
  • Eye protection : safety goggles, face shields
  • Disposable gloves
  • Sanitizing equipment: hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes

Where to drop off: Acton's Public Safety Facility (Acton Police) - 371 Main Street, Acton MA 01720

How: Drop-off in the box outside at the front door of the Public Safety Facility or if it's too big, call the number on the box and a police officer will come outside to help.

Other ways to help: You can find instructions on how to make home made masks on the CDC website or here.

Also, you can support local tailors by purchasing hand-sewn masks from them, for yourself or to donate to those who need them. Mask making and shipping services are now provided by local businesses such as Q Cleaner & Tailor (A-B United Way local business supporter), www.qcleanertailor.com on 159A Great Road in Acton, 978-264-4005. They are offering masks for $10 each or in case case of donation, a package of three for $25.

Donation superstars:

Huge thanks to the Boston Metrowest Bible Church who donated more than 1,600 disposable and hand sewn masks to the Acton Public Facility and local agencies, and many thousands more to area and Boston hospitals and nursing homes.  Thanks Melanie Liu and Angie Tso !

Thanks also to Carole Marcacci and Jean Butler who donated more than 60 masks to Acton and Maynard Food Pantry !
