About Acton-Boxborough United Way: A-B United Way (ABUW)’s vision is to build a community where every resident belongs and thrives. United, we fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Acton and Boxborough. We identify and address the most pressing issues in our community and bring together the people to solve them. We fund and collaborate with local agencies and community partners to address 5 critical challenges: Mental Health, Early Childhood Success, Financial Stability, Crisis Preparedness, and Equity & Racial Justice. Acton-Boxborough Resource Center (ABRC) opened in September 2023 at the AB Schools Administration Building (15 Charter Rd, Acton). It is operated by AB United Way staff and volunteers. Open to all residents of Acton and Boxborough, we offer information about local resources, and our onsite AB Exchange offers free seasonal clothing and other essential items.

Join Us as a Program and Volunteer Manager at Acton-Boxborough United Way!
Are you ready to make a real impact in our community? Acton-Boxborough United Way is seeking a dynamic bilingual/multilingual Program and Volunteer Manager to lead our efforts at the AB Resource Center and support our community-building programs and initiatives.
- Community Impact: Drive day-to-day operations at AB Resource Center (incl. AB Exchange), helping connect residents to essential community resources and free clothing. Empower volunteers to support this work. Each week at ABRC brings new ideas, opportunities, and challenges; we’re looking for someone who is energized by the idea of building new systems, happy to go the extra mile to help a family who comes in, and OK to say ‘no’ when something is outside our scope.
- Diverse Engagement: Recruit and manage a diverse team of volunteers, mobilizing them to support the AB Resource Center (incl. AB Exchange and the incoming donations), and other AB United Way programs including our Mental Wellness Team, Community 5K, and casino fundraiser event.
This person will report to the Executive Director and work together with a small dynamic staff team, a highly engaged Board, and growing number of volunteers.
This is an in-person position, working at AB Resource Center during our opening hours: Monday - Thursday 10am - 3pm, with late hours (open until 7PM) two Thursdays/month.
Qualifications, Skills And Abilities
- Spanish or Portuguese language proficiency required
- Familiarity with the Acton-Boxborough community
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building
- Resourceful, detail oriented, highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Comfortable using a variety of technology platforms.

Compensation: $28-$30/hour depending on experience.
